As we journey south, we don’t have to run all the rapids at once, like we did coming up. We do need to traverse Johnstone Strait again so that can be a challenge. This intinerary allows us to leisurely cruise to spots we passed on the way up. On this leg, we did need to time our traversing through Chatham Channel as it can be a bit dicey during a fast running current. David is always so diligent to ensure we arrive at the safest times and he is much appreciated. He has a great chartplotting tool.

We landed in Boughy Bay (pronounced Boogie), and dropped anchors. It was a beautiful spot and we enjoyed a quiet evening together. Holly read five bears were seen one morning clamming on the beach at low tide. We were all hoping and keeping watch.

It was a calm and peaceful location until about 4:00 am when a wind squall came out of nowhere, blowing 15-17 miles an hour. For safety, we let out another 25 feet of chain and then I watched to make sure we were secure. It only lasted about an hour, but it was hard for me to go back to sleep. It was going to make for a long day.
