Gorge Harbor
Gorge Harbor is just around the southern tip of Cortez Island. We could have walked from the little store in Squirrel Cove to Gorge Harbor in less time than it took to motor over.
This was a well protected harbor with plenty of room for anchoring but we chose to stay on the dock. The swimming pool and hot tub were full of folks having fun, and the hot water felt so good. Unfortunately, the restaurant had to be torn down last year due to foundation issues, but is scheduled to be rebuilt by next season. Their grocery store is well stocked and we took advantage to replenish fruits, veges, and an ice cream bar or two. Our last evening was spent listening to music on the dock, until it began to rain. Time to get ready for the run south and weather forecasts weren't favorable.
