Remembering our loved ones

My stepdad passed away back in January, and the family decided to have his internment on his birthday in July. It was a special day and we wouldn’t miss it. Instead of taking a ferry, we decided to take the little boat back to Anacortes. We left the big boat on the dock at 7:30 am and made it to our dock in Shelter Bay in 2 hours. We were able to run several errands, and then joined our family for the Celebration of Life and lunch on the beach afterwards. It was fun to see our families grow, not only in numbers, but also in size. The kids are all growing so fast.

Then it was time to head back out to the boat. After a day on the mainland, Gale and Bruce, friends from our Shelter Bay dock, hosted a little dinner gathering on their boat at Roche Harbor. It was fun and yummy - meeting new people, a few drinks, good food… yup, it’s a boating thang! Arrived back at the big boat just after sunset, and fell into bed. It was a long day.
