Did someone say beach? Mar 31 Written By deb flewelling It didn’t take long before we needed to get out of the big city for a few days and find a beach. Hua Hin was about 4 hours south via the “chicken” train. Yes, there were actually chickens aboard. It made many stops along the way, and the vendors selling food and drinks were relentless, roaming back and forth through the cars. It was hot, sweaty and 4 hours felt like 10. But it was so worth the trip. We found a very nice condo within walking distance of the beach and with a fabulous pool. We arrived after sunset and took a much needed dip to cool off. However, it was like swimming in the bathtub. The water was refreshing but warm. The sun was barely up and we were off to the beach. Miles of powder white sand and gorgeous water. As the day progressed, the wind came up a bit and when we left, there were 50-75 kite boarders on the water. They were amazing to watch, especially as they weaved their way around everyone in the water. You can’t have a beach without horses and massage tables. The horses were very well behaved and in very good health. It was fun to see them run and their handlers were very careful to keep up after them. The massage was amazing. One hour for less than $10 and their thumbs should be registered weapons…. ouch!We left a little pinker than expected, but it was a great day. deb flewelling
