Buchart Gardens

What a magical place. The dingy dock is at the back of the park and you enter into the Japanese Garden. It was so beautiful. Tony and Lisa were with us and we chattered, giggled, oh’d and ah’d our way through the garden.

The Buchart fortune was made on cement, literally. They purhcased 12 acres on top of limestone and then quarried it for cement making. Jennie Buchart loved gardening and began a venture that is now an epic landmark with 5 different garden areas around the property.

The colors are just so vibrant and beautiful. This is the fountains in front of the Buchart Mansion, now a restaurant and museum.

We have very fond memories and such a love for Japanese gardens - and each other!

Keith and Tony in front of the Boar - notice how shiney the Boar’s nose is. It’s because people rub it for luck. These two handsome men didn’t need to rub the Boar nose…. just sayin’.
