Celebrating 10 Years

This trip was to celebrate not only our retirement, but also our 10 year anniversary. We have been so blessed to share our lives together, but also to share our lives with others. So this day, we celebrated us and how God has so richly blessed our lives. Instead of cards or flowers (or tin), we dedicated the day to fun memories. To say the least we spent a lot of time laughing. Some of our favorites are listed at the bottom of the page.

It was going to be a very hot day, so we headed out first thing to the golf course. There is only 1 in Merida open to the public. It was expensive, but a fun morning well spent. Important info for all our golfing buddies, Keith only lost 3 balls and I didn’t lose any. But, the funniest event happpend when Keith was searching for a ball and stepped into, what turned out to be, a mud bog and it sucked him in to his ankles. Yup, I was laughing the hardest. It was a good thing he had on his walking sandals - he just took them off, washed them and his feet in the water, and we were back in business. He only squeeked for a while (snicker snicker).

We had to watch where our balls landed. If we walked up and surprised an Iguana, we don’t know who jumped the highest.

We concluded a fun day with dinner out, both opting for a nice steakhouse for a change of pace. There were 2 very highly recommended in town and we selected 130 Degrees Steakhouse. It was probably one of the best meals we’ve had, even rivaled our favorites at El Gaucho. What a great ending to a very fun day.

The main course, a rib eye loin carved at the table - delicious.

Some of our favorite memories over the years:

Our annual Thanksgiving weekend tradition with family - the more the merrier.

Boating with loved ones, even if it meant bringing your own tent and sleeping bags, or booking a beach side cottage.

Traveling to South Africa with Jim and Katey, to Mexico with Eric and Cherie, and to Italy with KD and Viv.
