Friday Harbor
We pulled up stakes (ok the anchor) at Garrison Bay and headed to Friday Harbor. There were only 8 lonely boats in Garrison when we left. It just looked so empty.
The boat will stay at Friday Harbor for about 7 days while we travel to California for my step-moms memorial/burial, and some precious time with family. Friday Harbor Marina treated us like royalty and gave us a premier spot on the commercial dock, right at the bottom of the main dock ramp. They allowed us to raft the Trophy at no cost, and then later asked us to move it to the dock, still at no cost. Because we were staying more than 5 nights (after Sept 15), one night was free. The total cost worked out to be $49 a night. Wow, what a blessing - we couldn’t have been more pleased.
We got everything settled and felt like we were in heaven… electricity, water, laundry, a grocery store and Ace hardware a block away, and some of our favorite restaurants. We headed straight to town to shop and then back to the boat to do chores. Last but not least, we packed our bags, got Little Wing all buttoned up and are ready to catch an early ferry to the mainland and then spend the next travel days on land. I wonder how long it will take before we stop swaying!
When we return, we will spend the last few days on the water with our son Jay and his friend as we head to LaConner. What another crazy adventure for the FlewCruisin Team!!!
