Secret Cove / Smugglers Cove

What another beautiful Strait crossing, and we headed to Secret Cove. We wanted to stay close to our fleet so we decided to anchor inside the cove. But wait, there was a spot on the government dock, just big enough for us to skooch in. We tied up, paid our fee and then all headed over to Smugglers Cove.

There were a few more boats at Smugglers than were there last time but still plenty of room for everyone. We dropped anchor on the trophy, stern tied it and jumped in. Dave, Sheila, and Jake (their wonderful golden doodle) took their dingy over. We spent the afternoon swimming and lounging on the warm rocks. The water was 72 degrees and I loved just swimming and floating around. Bliss!

After we returned to the dock, we had a little kerfuffle with a local who told us we couldn’t tie up to the government dock because it was for fishing boats. After a bit of bravado, we learned we were to check with the harbormaster first to make sure the open spots were truly open. And guess what, the spot was open. A lot of fuss about nothin! We happily ended the day with HH on the dock in the shade, laughing and talking. Every stop is a new adventure with great memories made!
