Sidney Marina

Just outside of Maple Bay, we passed several Orcas. They are so majestic and we love seeing the marine life.

We all arrived safely in Sidney and settled in. Several took a nap and we all enjoyed the sunshine. We have friends who live in Sidney and they came down and spent some time with us. We all shared in happy hour and then the four of us went to dinner.

We met Doug and Suedelle several years ago on the dock at Refuge Cove because we both had the same boat. We enjoyed each other, had a lot in common, and have remained friends ever since. They also have a home in Bucerias, Mexico and Keith went down and spent time helping Doug with some remodeling while I was in Thailand.

Doug is fighting cancer and due to the chemotheraphy, he has had trouble eating and hasn't been able to taste anything. This was the first meal he could taste and enjoy in a while. His tummy was full and he was so happy. It was heart warming to see his gratefulness. We take so many things for granted, until they are gone. What a blessing it was to spend time with these dear friends.

The next day was our last in Canada and we spent it meandering in town, doing a little shopping, then some relaxing, and napping. It is surprising how meandering can tire you out... hahaha!

The last night and it is always fun to share another yummy meal together. Thank you David, Holly, Eric, and Sue, (and Chris, Mary Anne, Andy, and Sari) for sharing your friendship, your laughter, and adventures with us. What a great time we had creating new memories, seeing amazing places and things, and just having great fun. We look forward to our next one.

Sunday morning was time to prep for the crossover into the United States. It was time to head back and was an easy crossing. We dropped anchor in Garrison Bay for a night. We logged 716 miles round trip.
