Telegraph Harbor

It was great to see sunshine without wind. Everyone landed safely and shared hugs and hellos with Andy and Sari, who were able to meet up with us for a few days. Happy hour was on the DahlFun and it was big enough for all eight of us. It was so good to see good friends and spend a few days on dry land. There were walks, talks, boat repairs, ice cream treats, plenty of laughter and fun.

It's good to have a group of handyman that can take on just about any project. The bilge pump wasn't working and there was about 100 gallons of water in the bilge. So the guys jumped in to get it fixed. There was the watcher, the holder, the head in first, and the sitter... what a team!

The marina was packed full as several rendevous events were occuring. The first night, there was entertainment at the head of the dock and the musician was very good (and no, it wasn't David this time). 

The second night, Andy and Sari treated everyone to dinner at the pub across the bay. We were all having a great time when Karoke broke out. Our famous vocalist had the mike for one song and everyone sang and danced along. What a great way to end the night and a fun couple of days.

Just before leaving for dinner, we had an interesting experience. An infestation of small flies hatched and they were everywhere. I'm not exagerating to say there were millions. We had never seen anything like it and they were everywhere and on everything. We quickly closed windows and doors to keep them out. In a little over an hour, they were all dead but our boats were covered and every surface was littered with them. They were on our clothes, in our hair and they covered the surface of the water. It was amazing and everyone was still cleaning them off their boats the following morning. We'd never seen anything like it.

The next morning was time to head out again and we all said our good byes and pushed off. It was warm with no wind and we looked forward to a much needed calm day on the water.
