We love Thai food.

It goes without saying how much we both love Thai food, so our first adventure was a cooking class and open market shopping experience.

Our instructor April, was a spit fire and she knew her stuff. She gave everyone a quick lesson on the types of food we would be using and then we all headed to the open street market.

We could buy whatever we wanted for ourselves to take home while she bought the supplies for our meal prep. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but we found a few things to take with us.

The menu was Tom Yum soup, Shrimp Pad Thai, Green Curry w/ shrimp or chicken, and the dessert was Mango Sticky Rice. We each made our own dishes from the ingredients they provided. Dessert was the only dish we didn’t fully prepare as it was partially done due to the time needed for the stickey rice to cool. Each of us had a tray with the ingredients we would use in our dish. Some items were partially prepped but we did everything else.

Then we’d all trek upstairs to the cooking kitchen where there were two rows of woks. It was VERY hot up there. April walked us through how to cook our dish.

When it was finished, we plated it and went downstairs to eat. It was delicious! If you are asking yourself if we got to keep the recipes - yes, we did and plan to duplicate them when we get home. I hear a dinner party coming on.
