A ‘do-nothin’ Day

We intentionally have one of these every so often, a day where we just don’t plan anything major. We may take a walk, read a book, play a game, lay by the pool, watch a movie, you know - that kind of day. It forces us to be quiet and not always be moving or planning. I will say, we’re starting to get good at it.

So on our ‘do-nothin’ day, I decided to get a pedicure. And just my luck, our Airbnb host recommended a clinic (salon) just a few blocks away in a large mall. Wow, we have passed this place several times and had no idea it was a mall, we thought it was government buildings. It was like a Bellevue Square inside with expensive stores, a movie theatre, a bowling alley, tons of restaurants, a huge grocery store (like a Fred Meyer) and a little pedicure clinic.

This truly is a clinic, like a medical office, and each technician has their own sterilized cubicle to work on my feet. I had to double check and make sure they weren’t going to amputate a toe instead of just make them pretty - they take this business very seriously. I won’t bore you with all the details but this was the best pedicure I’ve ever had. My feet were as soft and smooth as a baby’s.

After the pedicure, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch and walk home and then spent the afternoon lounging by the pool and reading. What a fun ‘do-nothin’ day.
