Good Food Awaits

First item on the agenda is a food tour. What’s good to eat and where do you get it. This was a very fun evening, and yes, I’m the oldest one there. The two girls were from the UK and the two guys were from the US. The handsome kid in the front was our tour guide and he was very good. We had six courses and I was stuffed by the end of the second (which were just soups), so I nibbled through the rest of the evening. It was all so very good and fun.

Clockwise starting at the large picture - wet Pho, dry Pho, mushroom rice pancake (Banh Cuon), Bahn Mi (sandwich), Chicken skewers & noodle soup (Bun Cha), and Egg Coffee. The coffee was topped with whipped egg yolk and sugar instead of whip cream. It was all so good.

We ended the evening at the royal gates. Normally only royalty could enter through the center and everyone else had to use the openings to the right and left. It wasn’t too long ago when they finally opened it for everyone.
