Grand Times with Grand Boys

We have four grand newphews who we so enjoy. For Christmas we gave them a trip to Tucson for spring training. They were over the moon as this was a first on an airplane for some, and a first for such a fun event. We packed four days with lifetime memories.

Meet the boys - left to right is Noah, CJ, Sawyer, Ryker, and Uncle Keithus. First stop was In & Out - they were all in heaven. I'm not a big fan so I took pictures instead and snacked on a few french fries. Then we headed to the AirBnB for the afternoon.

Second day was spring training but got rained out. Thankfulky, the evening game was still on. Quick, create a plan B. First stop, Dunkin Donuts and then off to Dave and Busters. I'm not sure who had more fun, the boys, or us just watching them. The competition was fierce.

After wearing out at Dave & Busters, we headed to a local Starbucks and found it had a large table, perfect for playing card games while it poured rain outside. Whew, that was a miracle.

Finally, it was time for baseball. Front row seats meant you got to get game balls, signatures, and pictures with the players. These were some very happy boys. Game ended about 9:30 and we still had a two hour trip home. They watched a movie on the ride home but were very tired boys by midnight.

Next day was warm and sunny, and it was time to relax at the heated pool. I stayed warm and dry in a lounge chair, just watching and laughing. We also played pickleball for a bit… hmmm, that was interesting. These are competitive boys!

Typical boys, it's all about fast, loud, hot cars, so we introduced them to our neighbors John and Rebecca and their fast, loud, hot Corvette. There were a lot of ohs and ahs… they were impressed.

Before we knew it, the long weekend was almost over. It went by so fast and now it was time to head to Phoenix to the airport. The flight ended up being delayed three hours, after they were in the airport, so there was some serious improvising for Uncle Keithus to pass the time in the airport. Ultimately, everyone arrived home safely, but I'm not sure who slept more soundly that night. What a fabulous weekend!
