PickleBall Champs
Every year the Saddlebrooke Pickleball club has a tournament. First day is women, second day is men, third day is couples. The game matches are determined on your skill ranking (2.5 to 4.0). Keith and I are both ranked 3.0. My partner was my dear friend and neighbor, Ann, and we won one game out of four. One game was close and two games were slaughter, but we didn’t get pickled (which means we had no points). The competition was tough but we had a great time.
This is my partner Ann, second from the left and we played against two friends Amy and Connie. In practice, we beat them, and then in the actual tournament game, they beat us by a few points. It was a very fun game and they deserved the win.
Second day, Keith played with his partner Jeff. They are both amazing players and I was so proud of how much Keith’s game had improved and how well he played. They played nine powerful games and in the end, they won the bronze medal for 3.0. Wow, it was a great time and these boys were very tired at the end. Jeff even had a skinned knee from an amazing shot, and yes, he got it over the net.
We look forward to next fall! But we’re not done, we will find places along the way in our travels to play, and we always have our paddles. Paddle On!
