Hike to Flag Rock

Our first event out was a quick hike to Flag Rock. We had hoped to hike to Flag Rock and Mount Dome, which are next to each other, but had under estimated the time needed to make both so we just did Flag Rock. It was several hours round trip and then it was time to get back to finish preparations for our much awaited Thanksgiving meal.

This was our first hike and it felt so good to be out exercising. We also loved the view of Saddlebrook in the background.

Keith and Eric resting before we start the descent.

Coming down the mountain, we saw this very rare find - a Double Crested Saguaro. It is very rare to find a single crested where the crest will grow on one side, but a double crest was amazing and such a treat.
