Tambor Beach

We journey to the southern end of the peninsula to Tambor Beach. It felt like we were a long ways from civilization and then learned - we were. Our accommodation was a nice home in a gated community called La Delfines Golf & Country Club, and it had a pool.

Because of limitations with our cell carrier, the odd addressing in Costa Rica, and the period of time AirBnB will give you the actual address, we often didn’t know exactly where we were going, just a general area. There were several times finding the exact location of the residence was a challenge - this was one of them.

Once we finally arrived, we were tired and hungry so we headed to the beach restaurant, a block away, before unpacking and then enjoying some pool time.

While eating lunch, we heard this screaching noise and I realized they were Macaws. Sure enough, they were right above us in the trees. We thought this was such a treat, but as our stay continued, we saw and heard them often. They are so beautiful (and loud).

We unpacked, turned on the air conditioning to cool the house down, and headed to the pool. After a frustrating arrival, this turned out to be a fun relaxing time - that’s what vacation is all about.

The community bordered Tambor beach, so it was a quick five minute walk. We had to spend time in the water so we had an evening stroll and swim. The water was so blue and warm, and the sand so white.

We were fascinated with all the water life - the tiny sea slugs and the starfish buried in the sand were some of our favorites. This bay was large so it was fun to stroll - which is a must for Keith and I.
