Otter Cove

Otter Cove is on the northwest corner of Pender Island, tucked back behind the ferry landing. We were able to secure a couple of nights on the dock or bouy and what a treat this turned out to be.

We arrived and had settled on the dock as the folks directly behind us were departing their boat. There were three women and one was very familiar. We both looked at each other with that inquisical look and then I knew, Julie, from Shelter Bay. They have the slip one over from us. We squeeled, laughed, hugged, and wondered what the odds were of us ending up at the same place. It was very fun to see her.

This is a very popular place and plenty of room to anchor out in the cove. Our first day, we dingy’d over to the parks dock and did a great hike up to a marshy lake. To get back, we had to side hill the trail to our starting point. That was a trick and it was a bit more stenuous than we expected. But, as I was hiking along, I felt the tightness in my leg, that had been hurting since my hip issue, just release and the pain was gone. I was thanking Jesus and it felt so good to just hike.
