Welcome to Villadolid

We were off to a little town about half way between Merida and Playa del Carmen called Villadolid (Vie-ya-doe-leed). We have found the best transportation is via bus. They are beautiful rigs, inexpensive, comfortable, and readily available, whenever you need to travel. We dropped off the rental car at the airport, and called for an Uber to take us back to the bus station. There was an issue with the Uber (which I had been warned about in the local blogs) but a local car rental rep jumped in to rescue us and we made it in time for the bus departure, with just a few minutes to spare.

The forecast called for rain and boy did it. We were glad we were on the bus and not trying to move luggage around in the downpour.

Two hours later, we arrived at our destination and grabbed a cab to our new home. Again, we found a beautiful little oasis.

Our apartment is upstairs and it was beautiful, newly built or remodeled. We just never know what to expect as sometimes the pictures don’t truly reflect the status of the dwelling. But we have been blessed to find beautiful places. This is a single studio unit with bed and seating area on one end near the deck and then bathroom and small, but full kitchen on the other. It was very comfortable.
